Built in 1956 on land once owned by a sand mine, the iconic Lennon’s Broadbeach Hotel dominated the surrounding area, even though it was only five storeys high. Today, the Oasis shopping centre stands on that site and the vast array of modern tall buildings has completely transformed the appearance of Broadbeach into the Gold Coast’s 2^nd largest tourist mecca.
