If you are considering using a 3rd party insurance excess reduction policy, you need to fully understand the shortcomings that may be in your intended rental company's insurance cover at standard excess levels - the exclusions that we have mentioned within our "compare" section (Single Vehicle Accidents; Hail Damage; 3rd Party Cover etc.) will not be covered by your outside policy if they are excluded by your intended rental company, because they won't be "excess" items, but rather "uninsured" items - thus becoming just like driving through flooded waters etc.
